Shiva Website Text May, 2011

Since 27 years I am living on this planet. Since quite early it was very clear to me that what I saw and felt going on around me was not at all attracting me. To live a life where the center is money, and how to make it, or how to spend it. Whomsoever I met, they all felt empty inside.
In that age, around 8-12, I didn't have the slightest clue what to do. There was just no alternative I could say fully yes to.
More accidentally in 2001 I came to know Pan and the commune he founded. A bunch of crazy people on a hill. But something was different here . . .
Here I came to know about Osho, his vision of the New Man and spirituality. Up to then I had quit from any spirituality. Till then any spirit I came to know was in the hands of rotten, old traditions. Traditions that didn't give me anything, they didn't answer any of the questions I had about life.

Being in the presence of Pan and in the commune around him the first understandings arose, of why things are the way they are and why I had such a deep feeling of not being fulfilled or challenged by the life I knew up to then. Suddenly spirituality became something touchable, something I could understand and really practice in my life:
    - Give all your energy in, life will return it thousandfold.
    - Hide and indulge in pain and it will become more, share and care and your life will turn into a blessing
    - It's not that nobody loves you, it's you who doesn't love anybody
Boom, things I can understand . . . things I can change . . . things that have to do with my “normal” life . . . and that has to do with spirituality?
That looked very attractive to me: practical things that can change my life to something exciting. Into a life I really feel worth living. Where I look forward to every moment of it. That looked very interesting to me.

By now there are more and more movies released, showing the madness and insanity happening on this planet, things like
“Old habits + New Technology = Disaster” are stated.
Organized religions are recognized as evolution-hindering-instances for human development. The greedy concept of capitalism, the monetary-market system etc. just exploits and kills people or at least leaves them behind empty and burned out.
All these things are now realized from more and more people. And yet, nowhere I read about a real solution.
Some say technique should do it, others say we have to become more simple, to not consume anymore, to not participate in the rat race . . .
But how?
I felt great needs, to be recognized, to own things, to make good money myself, to buy things I like etc.
And now I should skip all that for something that may start in some future when more people do it?
Or to wait for the moment politicians really change something?
No, nothing of that was attractive to me.

Pan is a man, who understands human mind, how it works, what are its motivations etc. He is not out of the world, but he is also no more from this world and yet he exists in it. He looks with a critical eye on what is happening around him and is ready to share it.
Not just ready to share it, but to share it in a daily practical way.

At Novutopia I had to renounce nothing. Yet a change started happening.
A practical spirituality, where I could learn in daily life what it means to be simply conscious on what I am doing and what result that has. Supported with strong techniques to relax the body and observe the mind.

At this place all that what I had in mind but couldn't get together found a beautiful harmony: Science with spirituality.
For a new kind of humanity, for humans acting out of their truly own experience, out of a feeling for their surrounding. A new kind of humanity which has no more a hole in it's middle, which isn't emotionally poor or empty anymore. Where there is from its base no more foundation for any negativity. And yet this new humanity is able to use technology at it's best. Instead of abusing technology to rape the world for it's resources just to produce something that I can consume endlessly to feel less empty for a few moments. To use technology for something which can help everybody to live an easy, very enjoyable life. To use all the aliveness, all that mental capacity everybody has creatively, to feel utterly content and fulfilled with one's life. To live a live where I can say it is worth to be passed on to those who are yet to come.

For me this is the only way: to merge science with spirituality in a practical way.
The only, only place I know where this is happening is Novutopia.
And the man who found this place, who is its continuous source for creativity: PAN.

Mind can not bail us out anymore, but a mind at the service of the heart can still do miracles.
Thank you Pan,
thank you friends,
yours,
Shiva
